Singapore, 25 Oct 2023 – VFlowTech, a Singapore-based provider of sustainable energy storage solutions, is announcing the launch of its newest product of their PowerCube series, PowerCube 50-250, a new vanadium redox flow battery. Besides its capabilities to support the deployment of solar energy while operating independently within the microgrid, 3 units of PowerCube 50-250 can also easily power 108 HDB flats for a whole year.
For 2023, VFlowTech launched the new reinvented Power Cube 50-250 during a keynote speech at Asian Clean Energy Summit during Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW), organised by the Energy Market Authority (EMA), a statutory board under the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry. This time round, SIEW returns with the theme “Energy Transition towards a Net Zero World”, exploring pathways to accelerate the transition towards a net zero energy future.
The PowerCube 50-250 represents a significant leap towards VFlowTech’s goal of Gigawatt-hour (GWh) deployment. Designed with modularity and scalability in mind, this innovative solution utilizes a cluster-based approach, revolutionizing energy storage manufacturing. The system’s remarkable installation flexibility is set to dramatically reduce the levelized cost of storage (LCOS) to $US0.07/kWh.
VFlowTech’s PowerCubes can be seamlessly integrated into renewable energy sources of solar and wind, enabling a more significant share of renewable energy in the overall energy mix. PowerCube 50-250 advanced energy management system allows easy integration with other battery energy storage chemistries like Li-ion, Lead Acid and supercapacitors thereby making Hybrid Energy storage solutions cost effective.
Grid integration of renewables and reliable long duration energy storage solutions is critical for energy transition,” said Dr. Avishek Kumar, CEO of VFlowTech, “With the PowerCube 50-250, we provide the solution for a reliable and affordable long duration energy storage, and are paving the way for a greener and more sustainable future.”
Dr Arjun Bhattarai, CTO of VFlowTech, said: “Our battery storage systems are designed in a modular approach that enables us to unlock the scale of energy deployment. The introduction of the PowerCube 50-250 enables us to deploy our batteries in larger-scale scenarios, including utility-scale energy storage, microgrid setups for remote communities, and the seamless integration of large-scale renewables into the grid.”
VFlowTech is the leading Singapore-based energy storage solutions provider manufacturing low-cost and efficient modular vanadium redox flow batteries, and a winner of the Gold Award in the Carbon Zero Category at the Techblazer Awards 2023, jointly presented by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and SGTech.
